Foakaidhoo, MALDIVES - Foakaidhoo FC hold league champions TC Sports Club by 1-1 in this year's Charity Shield match played at Foakaidhoo Ground.
This is the first time in the long history of Maldivian football that a top flight football match was played under home-and-away format. Foakaidhoo got the chance to play in this match when Minivan Championship winners, Thimarafushi declined the offer from FAM to play in the charity Shield due to the unfinished work at their home ground.
Both teams failed to change the score, however Foakaidhoo missed some good opportunities to score a goal against the league champions.
Ismail Easa took the lead for the league champions in the 65th minute from a descent volley inside the box.
Hussain Fazeel leveled the game from a spot kick just two minutes before the normal time.
