Male', MALDIVES - Chinese national team coach Marcello Lippi has said that they have no excuses and his only thing is to get three points against Maldives in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

"It is our first qualifier for the 2022 FIFA World Cup so we all know that its a very important match and we have to give our best. We have a very big ambition and that is to go to the second phase of the qualifiers and to achieve this result we need to get points and what is important for us is try our best and get three points, not about the opponents." Said the Italian, who won the 2006 FIFA World Cup with Italy.

"The beaches, the weather and other things are not big problems for us. The stadium is good, the hotels we are staying is good so we have no issues with those things. We don't have any excuses. We will just go on to the field and get three points."

When asked about their final preparation held in Guangzhou, Lippi said he was very satisfied with the final days in Guangzhou.

"I am very satisfied about the preparation held in Guangzhou and it was very good for me and for all the players. We got all the players a week before due to their respective clubs participation in Chinese league. But, in general I am very satisfied."

LIppi also reiterated that their first naturalized Brazil-born Elkesson is a Chinese citizen now and he don't have any issues within the team.

"Elkesson got his Chinese citizenship and he is now a Chinese player. They have been playing together for a long period of time and I don't think it will be a problem for Elkesson" said the experienced coach Lippi.

It is believed that there will be nearly 1200 supporters from China to see Elkesson playing for them at the National Football Stadium on Tuesday. And as per Chinese media Evergrande is sponsoring some supporters.

Maldives will kick off against China tomorrow night at 20:00 hours at the National Football Stadium.
